I grew up in a small town just outside Belfast, lived in Dublin for ten years, and swapped the Emerald Isle for the Emerald City when I moved to Seattle four years ago.
I've travelled 30+ countries, but Ireland is the one I keep coming back to. I spent years exploring every corner of the island, north and south. I know the back roads, the pubs worth stopping at, the hotels that deliver and the ones that don't.
I started Turas because of a conversation that kept happening. Nearly every time I mention I'm from Ireland, someone tells me about their ancestry, a trip they took that changed them, or a dream to go one day. They always mention the people and the warmth. There's nowhere quite like it, and I wanted to share that with others.
Every trip I plan is different because every person is different. I'll build yours around what you're actually looking for, whether that's tracing your family history, playing the best links courses, exploring Ireland's rich and layered history, or just finding the places most visitors never see.
I'm not the only Irish export in the house. Emmy is a retired racing greyhound who made the move to Seattle with me. She was bred for the track in Ireland but wasn't fast enough, so I rescued her. Now she splits her time between the couch and the Oregon coast, which is the closest I've found to the beaches she used to run on back home.
I want you to feel what everyone talks about when they look out the plane window and see those green hills for the first time. That feeling of arriving somewhere that already feels like home.
